Here’s a peek into how one of your trusted heating and cooling companies in the state came to be:
1943: Southwest Mechanical, then known as Southside Plumbing, was established by V.E. Seikel. Following a year-long shut down during World War 2 in 1944, our company reopened in 1945.
1954: We were the first licensed Carrier dealer in Oklahoma City. That same year, Roy Seikel the son of our founder V.E. Seikel began his career as a mechanical engineer.
1970: Gary Finley, current owner and president, came to work as an estimator.
1974: Southside Plumbing was changed to Southwest Systems. Soon, we became the largest mechanical contractor in the southwest part of the United States with more than 300 employees doing work all across the country.
1985: Gary Finley would partner with two others in 1985 to buy Southwest Systems. Two years later in 1987, Gary would buy his other two business partners out and change the name once again to its current name Southwest Mechanical Contractors.
Summer of 1992: Ryan Finley, who is currently our vice president, worked as a plumbing and mechanical apprentice.
Today, both Gary and Ryan Finley run the day-to-day operations of Southwest Mechanical Contractors. As HVAC professionals, we pride on our 80-year industry experience. We work with homeowners and businesses of all sizes across all industries. As one of the best air conditioning and heating companies in Oklahoma, we serve clients in the government, commercial, and industrial organizations throughout the region.
Our mission has always been giving you the best HVAC and Plumbing services that are worth your every penny!
